Turn the stone

Green marble block on a turntable, turned to a raking angle so light travels across the veining and along the sawn edge

A short list, chosen deliberately

Sahara Lumen onyx slab with the backlight switched off, lit only by ambient room light

Light is the material

Onyx is the only stone we sell whose appearance depends entirely on where the light comes from. Lit from the front, Sahara Lumen is a warm banded surface. Lit from behind, the surface disappears and the banding becomes depth.

That is the whole proposition of the material — and the reason the backing detail matters more than the slab. Cavity depth, diffusion layer and fixing method decide whether it reads as luminous stone or as a lightbox.
