Marble
A breccia — angular red fragments held in a pale matrix.
Kristel Red Breach is a breccia: the stone is made of angular fragments of red marble cemented in a paler matrix, so the surface reads as a mosaic the geology assembled rather than a vein running through a ground. That structure makes it far more tolerant of layout than a veined stone — there is no direction to get wrong — but it also means every slab is visibly its own composition, and a continuous run will not match. Specify it where that variety is the intention, and approve the actual lot rather than a sample.
Natural stone varies. Variation grades describe the expected range of veining and background, not a defect.
