The material
Crystal Phoenix is the most decorative of the blacks: the ground is deep and dark, and the veining carries a crystalline structure that picks up light and sparkles slightly as the viewer moves. That quality only survives a polished finish — honed, the crystal is cut back and the stone becomes an ordinary dark marble. It is specified for feature walls, bar fronts and backlit or grazed-light installations where the movement of the viewer is part of the effect, and we ask to see the lighting detail before a drawing is issued.
